Thame Show – Thursday 18th September 2014
Thame Show (Oxfordshire’s County Show) is returning in 2014 to its traditional third Thursday in September date on 18th September. Following the result of a public consultation the Association decided to make this change after overwhelming support in favour both from the public and exhibitors.
We are planning many exciting new attractions and displays.
a) Main Ring Attraction – Kangaroo Kid
b) Traditional Steam Fairground Rides
c) Cookery Theatre and displays/demonstrations by local chefs/colleges
d) Return of Public Bar by Oxfordshire Ales
We will still have all our livestock competitions (sheep, cattle, horses, donkeys) showjumping and scurry driving. The Sheep Show, The Traditional Bakery Show and the Fun Dog Show. The ever popular Countryside Arena will have displays from Gamegoer, Bob Hogg sheepdogs and the Sheep National along with a falconry display and Mules R Us. The Birds and Alpacas will also be on display and we hope to have exceptional entries in the Home and Garden marquee now the date has been changed back to September.
A great day out for everyone! It is hoped that this year the show will be even more successful as we continue our aim to promote the agricultural and livestock markets, an industry that affects us all. However, we could not possibly do this without sponsorship and donations towards the cost of running this prestigious event.
Sponsorship at the Thame Show is both an effective shop window for promoting your organisation and a great way to support your local community. The Thame Show is reputed to be the greatest one-day show in the country. It is a very high profile event attracting wide media coverage including radio and television.
There is a wide variety of opportunities ranging from livestock, signage, acreage, medical services, marquees, arenas, bandstand, members enclosure and all of the above.
We acknowledge Sponsors in the Class Schedules and Show Catalogues and with PA announcements as appropriate. Sponsors of classes are encouraged to present the trophies and rosettes to class winners.
